The
5WPS is more expensive than other mail services, but it has the special
benefit of being hand-delivered,
and packages are delivered either to the recipient, a family member, or the recipient's secretary.
The
mail carrier service costs USD
10.00
per package, flat rate. You can also reserve single package service(s)
a
month or more in advance of need for the more economical price of USD 7.50 per
package, flat rate.
Packages must be small enough to be hand-delivered
without strain. Large packages, or packages that cannot be
carried by hand without a sweat should not be sent via the 5WPS.
All
package contents must be fully declared or disclosed in advance via
email or fax (e.g., books,
documents,
magazines, CDs, etc.). Like private mail carriers, the 5WPS does not deliver to post office
boxes. Your mail recipient's
address must be located in New York County (aka Manhattan), or in Kings
(aka Brooklyn), Queens, or Nassau county, the 5WPS area of service, and the mail
recipient's address must not have
the words "PO Box" or similar. Please
understand that the 5WPS does not deliver to
Richmond (aka Staten Island) or Suffolk counties, or elsewhere in New
York State or the United States at this time.
To use the 5WPS, package delivery
services must be paid in full and in advance
through PayPal. If
you mail small packages to Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, or Nassau often
enough, we recommend you purchase credits for one or two packages
months ahead of time, since this will save you money.
Once you have
paid for the service, when you need
to send a package you must send
your mail recipient's address or addresses by email or fax to the 5WPS,
but just prior to the actual
sending of the package. This needs
to be done prior to the actual sending because you will send the package to the 5WPS
postal address below via government First Class or Airmail
(e.g., USPS), or through UPS,
FedEx, DHL, or any other private carrier. It is after the 5WPS receives
your package that it is hand-delivered
to the mail recipient in the 5WPS
area of service.
Only prior to the actual sending of the package, you must also fully declare or disclose the
package contents. Please note that all package contents must be
fully prepaid; must not require signatures or fees to be received by
the 5WPS; must not contain materials that are precious or unique
(materials that are irreplaceable); must contain materials which are
fully acceptible and which can be mailed legally (no drugs, even those
that are legal in your country); and all packages must not contain
hazardous materials, materials that should not be carried on public
transportation, or materials that require special licences or permits.
The email or fax with the mail recipient's information (recipient's address
and package contents) must
have the acronym 5WPS,
followed by the 5-digit Zip Code
of the mail
recipient, plus a 2-digit
identification code that clearly distinguishes that particular
package from any other. E.g., if you are sending two packages to
different addresses in Carnarsie with the same 5-digit Zip Code of
11234, the packages' addresses and contents must be identified
separately with codes such as 5WPS-11234-06
and 5WPS-11234-07.
It is a good idea to make the 2-digit
identification code different even when the two packages are
going to different Zip Codes. These
codes should also be on the package that you are sending to 5WPS,
so we can replace the 5WPS address with the one of your target recipent.
